The new U.S. Food and Drug Administration's "Medicines In My Home" 1-hour health curriculum. This program is available at no cost on the internet at www.fda.gov/medsinmyhome.

The program teaches students about the safe use of over-the-counter medicines, which includes,

  • making medicine decisions with a parent or guardian
  • following directions from the medicine's Drug Facts label or from a medical professional
  • and the risks and interactions associated with misuse of medicines

The teachers kit contains a slide presentation with notes, a pre- and post- assessment test, a take-home activity guide (for putting medicines in a safe place,) and much more.

If you wish to follow up with any questions, I am available at mandy.eisemann@fda.hhs.gov.
